#ShyGalGang: Hundreds of Cosplayers Pull Epic April Fools’ Cosplay Prank
Happy April Fools’ Day! If your social media newsfeeds have been flooded with pictures of your favorite cosplayers in Shy Guy or Shy Gal cosplays, you’ve been pranked!
In an epic display of unity and collaboration in the cosplay community, hundreds of cosplayers in a secret Facebook group conspired for over a month to come up with a silly, harmless cosplay prank to pull on their fans via social media. This year, everyone decided on “Shy Gal” cosplays, inspired by genderbent fanart of the iconic “Shy Guy” character from the Super Mario Bros. games. Some cosplayers stuck to the original design, while others decided to put their own unique spin on the character. Either way, the #ShyGalGang looked amazing! Check out some of the cosplays below!
The massive “Shy Gal Gang” was organized by Gauis Cosplay, and was made possible with the combined efforts of over 400 cosplayers! If you want to get in on next year’s group, it’s as simple as asking for invite!
