Here’s a super easy video tutorial I made for fellow cosplayers, indie models, and anyone else who does at-home photoshoots!
I came up with this method after searching for ways to make photo backdrops to shoot in smaller spaces because none of the other tutorials I came across (while helpful) addressed both the issue of small spaces + minimal storage space.
Additionally, most of them involved the use of PVC pipe, which I wasn’t really interested in using. My backdrop is not only lightweight, but it folds flat and can be stored in many different places without taking up too much space! It’s also easy to customize via fabric, spray paint, or even applying wallpaper.
Personally, I’ve shot several cosplay photos and full photo-sets using this simple backdrop. Having a good, clean background for your cosplay pictures places more emphasis on the cosplay, and it just looks more professional. Since 95% of my photos are self-shot for time-related, financial, and safety reasons, I’m always trying to come up with ways to improve and make self-shot photography easier. Hopefully this method helps other cosplayers and amateur photographers! Let me know how it works for you, and don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe for more cosplay hacks and other cool shit.
