Product Review: “Sweety Crazy Cyborg” Cosplay Lenses from UNIQSO
Hello, peeps! I was recently selected by Uniqso to do a product review for a pair of contanct lenses, so here it is! I was allowed to pick any pair from the website’s vast and colorful selection of prescription and cosmetic lenses, so it took me a day or two before I made my choice. I wanted to pick a pair that was unlike any other pair of lenses I currently own, and then challenge myself to come up with a coordinating makeup look.
Finally, I settled on the “Sweey Crazy Cyborg” lenses (probably influenced by my obsession with robots and growing interest in both cyber punk aesthetics and the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 game). The lenses had few reviews at the time, but the reviews that were there were good, and the product photos were enough to convince me that they’d be highly visible on my dark brown eyes. Next, I had to think about how I wanted to go about reviewing the lenses, and then I broke it down into 4 main catergories: Customer Service, Color, Comfort, and Price. I also came up with my own review point currency: Dollies. Get it? Because I’m DeLa Doll. It’s on brand. I’ll be awarding up to 5 Dollies for each catergory, and then averaging them at the end, so let’s get to the review!
Customer Service
5/5 Dollies
I’d ordered contacts from Uniqso in the past and the customer service was lovely. This time around I was receiving lenses for free as a sponsored influencer, and the customer was the same as before. I received 3 total emails concerning the order: a confirmation email, an email to notify me of the reward points I’d earned for the order, and a special “thank you” email from a customer service representative, complete with a list of helpful links and information should I have any questions or concerns. I appreciate the time and effort they put into proactively reaching out to customers and making them feel appreciated and well informed. A few days after my order was processed, my lenses arrived in a timely fashion (within the estimated arrival dates), and they were packacked much in the way most standard lenses are. The lenses also came with a free storage case, which is always a nice courtesy. Having ordered from several reputable (and, uh, not so reputable) contant lens suppliers in the past, I have to say that Uniqso is one of the top contenders from friendly and effective customer service, so it’s an easy 5/5 Dollies.
Color
5/5 Dollies
Up next is the color category, and once again I have to award all 5 Dollies. As someone with very dark brown eyes, I’m typically very careful and thorough when it comes to looking for colored contact lenses for my cosplays because some lenses have simply been an invisble waste of money in the past. Having taken my chances on a pair with only a few (but very positive) reviews and pictures, I’m pleased to say that if I had spent money on them, I wouldn’t have been disappointed in the least, as the black and white circuitry showed up beautifully!
Comfort
5/5 Dollies
I swear on my honor that I’m being impartial here, as I don’t believe in giving false praise in exchange for freebies, so believe me when I say that the Sweety Cyborg lenses are comfortable as heck. I wore them for around 4 hours between filming and shooting a makeup tutorial and still images, and I didn’t experience any discomfort. In fact, when it was time to take a shower and turn back into a real girl and not a cybernetic gynoid, I nearly forgot to take out the lenses before hopping in, only realizing my error when I noticed my reflection in the mirror and saw that I still had serious robo-eyes. Being a cosplayer sometimes means you end up walking around in them for hours on the convention floor or for photoshoots and selfies, so comfort is key. I don’t typically have issues with contact lenses, but I seldom forget to take them out entirely. Comfy as fuck. 5/5 Dollies.
Price
5/5 Dollies
At $20.90USD, the Sweety Crazy Cyborg lenses are pretty standard pricing for cosplay contact lenses. They come with a 12 month replacement period, so a little under $21 for lenses that are good for the whole year is very reasonable. I didn’t pay for this particular pair, but considering the vibrant color, great customer service, and comfort of these lenses, if I had spent money on them, I wouldn’t regreat it at all! I also think that this is a fair price for such a unique pair of lenses that can be used in a wide range of creative looks, so points for that!
Final Score + Closing Thoughts
Due to fantastic customer service, comfort, and color, coupled with an affordable price tag, I have to give the “Sweety Crazy Cyborg” lenses an overall score of, you guessed it, 5/5 Dollies. I’m looking forward to expanding on the “Sensitive Cybernetic” character they inspired me to make, and I’d like to thank Uniqso for allowing me to review such a cool pair of cosplay contact lenses! I would definitely reccommend ordering contacts from Uniqso as they provide both prescription and cosmetic lenses, have a wide selection for pretty much any character or fantasy-inspired makeup look you can think of, and fast and reliable shipping and customer service.
