[DeLaDoll] Cyberpunk Mitsuri Kanroji from Demon Slayer – Cosplay & Makeup Tutorial!
The Inspiration
This cosplay was created as a result of my love for cyberpunk aesthetics, my love of Demon Slayer, my desire to wear glittery, iridescent neon clothing, and of course, my love of crafting. I originally planned to cosplay Mitsuri in her canon outfit, but I eventually discovered that I actually really hate wearing it. Seriously, how is a girl supposed to slay demons in such a cumbersome uniform? It’s just not practical.
Determined not to give up on entirely on cosplaying my favorite strawberry-kiwi haired anime babe, I decided to get creative and come up with an alternate universe version of Mitsuri that was more to my liking, and so my Cyberpunk Mitsuri cosplay was born.
The Cosplay
Here is the finished cosplay, featuring my room as a backdrop because, at the time of writing, we’re in the midst of a pandemic. For this reason, I have no cons to where this to, and must resort to being a stay-at-home e-girl.
I curated the base of this cosplay using various pieces from iHeartRaves. The fishnets, green top, pink skirt, and super c h o n k y boots are all from there! Since I didn’t sew these pieces myself, I decided to challenge myself in the props and accessories department by redesigning Mitsuri’s “Love Nichirin” blade to match the cyberpunk theme. I’m super pleased with the design, and even more pleased that it’s just as flexible in real life as it is canonically. Not satisfied with only my cool holo blade, I also created some cyberpunk goggle accessories using a combination of my 3D modeling skills, my graphic design skills, my 3D printer, and my growing addiction to my Cricut Joy machine. Detailed material lists, video tutorials for both these props are up for free on my IGTV , and you can download the 3D print files and templates in my Ko-Fi Shop!
Makeup Tutorial
No cosplay is complete without a fancy face, so of course, I had to record a video tutorial of my makeup.
